My name is Gaynor and the owner of Aistheta Skin Clinic. I qualified in 1984 so my nursing career spreads over 30 years! I have had some very interesting and some quite challenging times over the years but I have never forgotten those who have given me encouragement to progress.
My career began at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, Middx where I became specialised in orthopaedic nursing. As my career developed over the years it took me in different directions where I embraced each role I worked in. I have accumulated knowledge and skills from working in intensive care, spinal injuries, pain management, community, pre op assessment, oncology, palliative care and vascular nursing.
My work in the aesthetic specialty began in 2011 after my move from North West London to Somerset where I began working in a small private clinic assisting with the treatment of varicose veins. It was here that I was introduced to aesthetics and met my mentor who saw the potential in me and said I have the 'eye' for it. I went on several courses so that I could offer a variety of different aesthetic treatments and to develop my career further, completed my independent nurse prescribing in 2014. By the end of 2017 I felt I needed to expand my aesthetic interests so I founded Aistheta Skin Clinic.
In 2018, having established my clinic, I was offered an opportunity to become a teacher/trainer for the treatment of microsclerotherapy based in Buckinghamshire. I love new challenges as they arise and it is great to share some of my knowledge and skills in teaching other medical practitioners.
Enjoying what I do, I work in a relaxed and friendly manner but I do take my clinical practice very seriously making sure that I keep up to date with current evidence based clinical practice so that I remain safe in every aspect of my work.
I am regisrered with the Nursing & Midwifery Council (NMC), British Association of Cosmetic Nurses (BACN), British Association of Sclerotherapists (BAS), Aesthetic Complications Expert Group and the Society of Vascular Nursing (SVN).
