In 2016, I was diagnosed with skin cancer which presented under my right eye. I underwent surgery that resulted in my face becoming asymmetrical, and to address this I began having botulinum toxin treatments. I was shocked to find that many practitioners were ill-qualified, unprofessional and lacking the skills and professionalism to carry out treatments properly. That was when I resolved to undergo training myself.

I was lucky to make a full recovery and went on to undergo rigorous aesthetics training in the prestigious Harley Street. My dream of becoming a fully qualified, highly-skilled aesthetics practitioner soon became a reality.

I’m passionate about safety in the aesthetics industry, and as a nurse of 20 years’ experience who is also a fully-qualified nurse prescriber, I am determined to do my bit to improve safety in the aesthetics industry and protect patients from harm.

My skin cancer resulted in me undergoing facial reconstructive surgery treatment which was brutal. I’m so grateful for the treatment I received and for my full recovery. It’s important to mention that my skin cancer was attributed to my use of sunbeds, so I want to emphasise that if you want to preserve your skin, your youth, and also your health, avoid sunbeds completely.
