Hello and welcome to Dr Rachel Tunney Aesthetics!
My name is Rachel and I qualified from Newcastle University as a doctor 11 years ago. Since then I have worked in a wide range of hospital-based medical and surgical specialities before pursuing a career in anaesthetics and intensive care medicine. I have a lot of experience in technical medical procedures, and advanced needle techniques such as epidurals, spinals and nerve blocks, and have trained in anatomy, pharmacology and physiology to a high level.
My training in Aesthetic Medicine has been from the Harley Academy and the Medical and Aesthetic Training Academy (MATA). I am also a qualified Obagi Medical and SkinCeuticals practitioner allowing me to help treat a variety of skin concerns using prescription-only topical products. My previous training and experience as a doctor has given me an excellent foundation upon which to build my skills and knowledge in this exciting field.
I have been brought up with evidence-based medicine and everything I use in the clinic has robust scientific research supporting each product. Patient safety is of paramount importance, and I am a member of the Aesthetic Complications Expert (ACE) group to ensure I keep up to date with current guidelines and management of complications.
My aim is for subtle, natural enhancements, that can make you feel confident in your own skin. I particularly love the Profhilo treatment and seeing how my patients enjoy their glowing skin the very next day!
