Kate qualified in adult nursing at Leicester De Montfort University in 2003. After 5 years on a GI surgery ward Kate travelled to and worked as a nurse in Australia for a year, on her return she began working as a homecare nurse which she has done for the past 10 years, treating patients with rare genetic conditions in their own homes. She also runs a migraine clinic in the NHS. She has recently been involved in a COVID-19 testing programme, travelling to patients own homes and testing them for COVID-19 to help stop the spread of the virus.
