Welcome to Dr Max Aesthetics, a surgeon-led clinic specialising in minimally invasive cosmetic procedures and cosmetic dermatology.
Based in Marylebone, we run a service that focuses on working with you to improve how you look and feel in your skin with a "less is more" approach. Our aim is to deliver truly natural results starting with preventative ageing, skin fitness and building up to injectable treatments when it's right for you.
Medical-Grade Skin Care:
Having tried a number of different products, we are currently working with the Neostrata range of home care products and in-clinic peels. Literally meaning "New Layers", the goal of Neostrata products is to work on the deeper layers of the skin to increase production of collagen and elastin (think plump and elastic skin with expression lines that immediately smooth out when you relax your face). As well as increasing the "fitness" and resilience of your skin, the products also provide gentle chemical exfoliation to break down the upper layers of dead skin cells, revealing dewy and glowing skin underneath.
One of the main reasons we are working with Neostrata are their stunning range of superficial-peels. We have a lot of flexibility in creating a personalised course of treatments to suit you and your individual skin concerns, whether you're a chemical peels connoisseur or you're just getting started. Of note, although one peel by itself will likely improve the appearance of your skin in the short term by providing superficial exfoliation, only a course of peels will stimulate the deeper layers of the skin to produce collagen and elastin. If you purchase a course of peels you will also be getting a selection of home care products from the Neostrata range.
Although not appropriate for everyone initially, we are very comfortable using prescription-only skincare following thorough skin consultation.
Botulinum Toxins/anti-wrinkle injections:
Botulinum Toxins are traditionally what people think of when they think of cosmetic dermatology. They are also what people think of when they see shiny, expressionless and frozen faces on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.
Finding the balance between keeping the facial expressions that make you human while at the same time targetting specific muscle groups to soften those deep and dynamic lines is why you want to see a pro.
There are a number of Botulinum Toxins on the market - our favourite is the ultra-pure Bocouture. It is super-stable and super-pure. Its creators have found a way to manufature it without requiring any additional stabilising proteins (that could theoretically cause an immune response that make you "immune" to toxin treatments). Of course, if you are a lover of good old-fashioned Botox and you know that it works for you then we are equally skilled using this, just let us know and we'll be more than happy to get some in.
In the right hands dermal fillers work absolute wonders. As with most things (apart from SPF), moderation is key - too much too quickly can lead to an unnatural distortion of your normal anatomy. With sensible volumes expertly and artistically placed in the right anatomical plane (depth), they can subtly plump, lift and enhance how light reflects off your face to give an overall more refreshed and rejuvinated appearance.
Our filler of choice is Juvederm and the Vycross range in particular (think Vobella, Volift, Voluma etc).
Why we don't charge per millilitre: Having thought long and hard about this, we've decided to move away from the tradition of charging by volume. No two faces are the same and while 1ml of filler may work for some, it may be too much for some and too little for others. By charging per ml it can seem like more is better which, when it comes to dermal fillers, is almost never the case. Factors such as filler placement, the expertise and training of your doctor are significantly more important.
We can't wait to see you in clinic to talk to you more about our treatments and work out what we can do to get you glowing.
