PCA Skin: Why the Aesthetics Experts Love It

Looking to stock a new skincare brand in your clinic? How do you decide which one to choose? One of the big players in the market is PCA Skin. I spoke to a couple of top aesthetic practitioners - Beth Hall at the Haut Clinic and Charlotte Smith at Skin Logic Aesthetics - to find out why they use this brand, what they love about their products and why they’re such a good company to work with.

Why did you choose to work with PCA Skin?

Beth Hall, who has worked with the skincare brand for three years, says, “My favourite brand that I work with is PCA Skin, as they continue to exceed my expectations. I initially chose this brand because of its ethos of results-driven skincare solutions, using the very best active ingredients, while maintaining respect for animals and the environment. None of the products are tested on animals, and they are free from synthetic dyes and fragrances, mineral oil, petrolatum, lanolin and phthalates. Plus, all the product packaging is recyclable.”

Charlotte Smith has been working with PCA Skin since the start of 2020. She says, “We offer the full range of PCA skincare in the clinic. When I opened up my aesthetic clinic, I spent a long while debating which brand to use. I wanted a brand which was scientifically formulated, affordable for clients and which was designed to treat specific skin conditions, and PCA Skin ticked all the boxes! The training is brilliant and the support received from them is second to none. Hannah is always on hand to give advice and offer tips regarding treatments!”

What do you like most about the PCA Skin product range?

Beth explains, “For me, I love how extensive the product range is. This means that I have so much freedom in individualising my patients’ skincare routines. There are products for all common skin concerns, as well as skin types, so it’s much easier to ensure you are selecting the right products for your patient - depending on what they need. The products are formulated with high-quality active ingredients, and because the products are not full of unnecessary ingredients, you know the actives are going to get straight to work!”

For Charlotte, it’s that “the products can be customised to treat specific conditions. For example, ageing skin, sensitive skin, acne and hyperpigmentation. The range of peels get real results, due to the progressive approach, so there isn't too much trauma or downtime to the skin.”

What’s your favourite PCA Skin product, and why?

When it comes to her choosing her favourite PCA Skin product, Beth says, “Without a doubt, it’s the Daily Defence SPF 50. This product came to the UK at the beginning of this year, and I’m obsessed with it. Not only is it providing valuable protection against UV damage, I also find it moisturises my skin beautifully, as well as leaving me with a luminous glow - perfect for makeup free days! The biggest bonus about this SPF product is it’s reef-safe status. This means it is formulated without oxybenzone and octinoxate, making it compliant with reef safety laws - and protecting our environment!”

And for Charlotte? Their SPF is a winner for her too! She explains, “I absolutely love the broad spectrum SPF. It's one of my biggest sellers in the clinic, and I also use it every day. Clients are amazed how light it is and how they can apply it over their moisturiser, daily, without it being chalky or heavy on their skin. Quite a lot of my clients have been converted to this product! I have to give the retinol a mention too, as everyone who knows me will know how much I encourage a daily retinol!”

They sound like great choices! What do you like most about working with this brand?

Beth believes, “the brand and the products are exceptionally consistent - and they don’t disappoint. I love that all the products are designed to work together, no matter what the combination is. The UK PCA Skin team are always happy to help, and make lots of resources accessible to support you in understanding the products and protocols. My patients love this brand, and know they are getting an excellent product, backed by science.”

And Charlotte agrees. She says, “As a nurse, I love that the brand is scientifically-formulated, plus the range of products is so versatile that it helps me make a really bespoke plan when treating clients in the clinic. The brand is exceptionally well-established, both in the UK and worldwide, and the support you receive as a practitioner is great.”
