With Mother’s Day fast approaching, it’s got me thinking about everything our mums do for us - and it’s a lot. Because the thing about being a mum is that it’s a never-ending job. There are no holidays, no free weekends, and no clocking off. And whilst the rewards of being a parent far outweigh the cons, it’s exhausting - or so my mum tells me. So, this one’s for all the mums out there: listen up.

Whether you’re dragging yourself out of bed every day for the early morning school run, struggling through countless sleepless nights, or trying to tackle the mountain of laundry you’ve got to get through, you spend your life running around looking after others. And whilst there’s no doubt that a lie-in, breakfast in bed, and some chocolates will be most welcome this Mother’s Day, there doesn’t have to just be one day of the year that’s all about you. It’s okay to start putting yourself first every once in a while - after all, you deserve it! And there’s nothing better than a bit of ‘me time’ to give yourself a bit of a pick-me-up, especially if you’re feeling a bit tired - and your skin’s feeling it too.

Dull, lacklustre skin and tired eyes are all completely normal when you’re rushed off your feet. And, if you feel like you want a fresher, rejuvenated complexion, you might find that non-surgical aesthetic treatments are a great way to do this. Minimally invasive treatments can give your skin a little boost and a great glow by enhancing what you’ve already got. And whilst the changes can be subtle, they can give you a big confidence increase. So, let me talk you through a few options…

Chemical peels

Being a mum, you’re most likely short for time, all the time. And that’s why a quick superficial chemical peel can be the perfect way to give yourself some TLC in your busy daily life. With the treatment only taking around 30 minutes, it’s a speedy way to treat loads of skin concerns - like fine lines and wrinkles, hyperpigmentation and uneven skin texture - to leave you feeling refreshed, renewed and rejuvenated.

Profhilo

Becoming increasingly popular by the day, Profhilo can help out with a ton of skin issues - from lines and wrinkles to skin laxity - but it’s particularly great for adding intense moisture back into the skin, thanks to hyaluronic acid (HA). So skin is left looking glowy, bright and healthy.

Microneedling

Whilst microneedling might sound a little off-putting, it’s really not as scary as it sounds. And its collagen-inducing properties are fab. Lines, wrinkles, uneven skin texture? A spot of microneedling can help with all of this.

Botox

If you’re bothered by forehead lines, crow’s feet and frown lines (and lots of other lines), a little bit of botulinum toxin (or Botox) can dramatically smooth out your skin and restore a youthful appearance.

HydraFacial

Fancy having a relaxing facial and coming out of the clinic with smoother, brighter and more radiant skin? The 5-step HydraFacial combines steps like detoxing, cleansing and exfoliating to visibly spruce up the skin and is the perfect relaxing treatment for mums.

So, mums. If you’re feeling like it’s time to treat yourself (and your skin), there are plenty of treatments out there to really spoil yourself and help you achieve your skin goals.
